"406 Not Acceptable" Error.

the webpage worked fine with IE but didnt work for firefox.
this was the error message (the error is "406 Not Acceptable") I had when I tried to access a certain webpage with firefox:

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource / could not be found on this server.

Apache/2.2.6 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.6 OpenSSL/0.9.8g DAV/2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 PHP/5.2.4 with Suhosin-Patch Server at xdcc.animeforever.org Port 80

Looks like a server error of some sort. IE will let anything go by. Firefox is a lot stricter about server errors

I posted this issue elsewhere and there are people who can access the url using FireFox without this error.

Sorry - that wasn't clear.

The site works for me using Firefox v2.0.0.9, Windows XP Pro.

Which version of Firefox? What extensions? Which theme? Which operating system? Have you contacted the site's operator?

this is my version info:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071025 Firefox/2.0.0.9

I should be using Firefox 2.0.0.9 and my OS is windows XP

I've uninstalled all the add-ons i had but after that, I still received the error.

this error also occurs in FireFox safe mode.

The HTML Validation Service at www.w3.org indicates that there are problems with the page, including "No Doctype found." See this page for details.

That could be the root cause of the problem.

Try:
Clear the cookies ('problem' site(s) only): Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Clear the cache: Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cache: "Clear Cache Now"

How can i fix this problem? I using Joomla 1.5.9 and my website got this 406 error.

I found the reason why this happen, and i wanted to share this with all of you.
406 is a error of Not Acceptable because server the website have tool check accept headers of mod_security.
I'm not sure that it's totally right, if you have any suggestion please share with me
