Giorgio, I tried to use FlashGot with Firefox (last version) and Flashget (last version) for downloading of multiple files stored in Rapid share using my premium account. I tried to use your guidel - point 6.4 but I don´t understand it. I have group of urls like
http://rapidshare.com/files/69431993/_r ... part01.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/69446921/_r ... part02.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/69452212/_r ... part03.rar . I clicked individually on each url , applied Flash Got link . one FashGet table emerged and I pushed OK. The download started, but I received only three 5K files instead of three 100K files. What was wrong, please? Jarda

@robbyx:
Sorry, the "password memo" feature can't work with any Linux download manager because to date none of them supports a "description" attribute for the link to be downloaded. @jarda garden: The links work fine for me (about 96MB for each). Please double check you're already logged in Rapidshare and you're passing cookies (FlashGot Options|Privacy|Send Cookies must be flagged). Should that not suffice, please try with Orbit downloader, just in case something bad happened with latest FlashGet versions or your specific FlashGet setup.

Giorgio were you able to confirm the delay problem with Flashgot?

@bob99:
no I didn't. That's what I wrote you in my 05 Nov private message which apparently you couldn't read yet (it's still in my Outbox):

Hi Giorgio
Can you make it so that checking flashgot version and opening the flashgot page on startup can behave in a similar way to browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone so that setting flashgot.version to disable/none can stop opening the flashgot page when starting with a fresh profile? Thanks

Dear Giorgio,
I've been trying out FlashGot. Thanks. FlashGot persistently places a folder on my desktop when Firefox loads. The folder is named flashgot.[profile name], has the current date and time, and contains a 2 Kb file entitled FlashGot.exe.test containing the information shown below. When Firefox is not running, the folder seems not to exist. I've tried uninstalling FlashGot, cleaning out whatever I can find and then reinstalling. The folder reappears. Please advise. @begogerber:
Please open FlashGot Options|Advanced and set your temporary directory to something different than your desktop.

In the Build Gallery using a Javascript function, is there any way to reference variables defined in the web page? The web page contains an array of thousands of URLs that are images. I'm trying to do this:
thanks for any help, grimholtz

@grimholtz:
for security reasons, in the Build Gallery expressions you're not allowed to reference any stuff coming from the web page. In your specific case, though, you would be better off with a bookmarklet appending those URLs as links on the bottom of the same page, e.g.:

I'm getting a memory leak using leak-gauge.pl when FlashGot 0.6.9.9 is installed in Fx 3 Beta 1.
/snip Leaked outer window 19c63480 at address 19c63480. Leaked inner window 5fcd70 (outer 19c63480) at address 5fcd70. ... with URI "chrome://browser/content/hiddenWindow.xul". Summary: Leaked 2 out of 11 DOM Windows Leaked 0 out of 63 documents Leaked 0 out of 5 docshells This happens only when FlashGot is installed, and goes away when it is removed. I don't see this with Adblock Plus or GMarks, for that matter. For more information about leak-gauge.pl, please see <a href="http://www.squarefree.com/2007/09/20/firefox-memory-usage-and-memory-leak-news/">Jesse's blogpost</a>. Thought I'd bring this to your attention to an otherwise excellent extension. Maintainer of The Rumbling Edge

@nth10sd:
thanks for your feedback. I'm gonna investigate, since I've got no idea of what FlashGot is still doing with the hidden window, but that's not a worrying issue. The so called "hidden window" has been implemented long time ago in Mozilla to make things work in extreme situations (e.g. on startup and on shutdown) where no regular window is available. Since it exists for all the application lifetime, "leaking" it (i.e. holding a long-lived reference preventing it from being garbage-collected) is not a real problem: it wouldn't go away anyway until Firefox is closed. It says "2 out of 11" because each browser window contains two DOMWindow, one for the chrome and one for the content.
