"failure to mount"

I had Firefox a year ago or so and while cleaning up my unused applications, I accidentally deleted it. I have recently tried 3-4 times to download it again, and each time it download the app. but "fails to mount" on my mac. any ideas?

If you can't launch any dmg files you likely have corrupted launch service cache files. You can go here

http://thexlab.com/faqs/resetlaunchservices.html

to get info for different OSX versions.
FF 92.0 - TB 78.13 - Mac OSX 10.13.6
