Unable to connect to internet
Just recently I have been unable to connect Firefox to the internet. When I click on my Firefox icon it tells me that it is unable to connect. I can still click on my Internet Explorer icon and get on the internet and also I have a Compuserve icon that also connects. Two other problems that seem to be related to this problem are that a couple of programs I recently installed are unable to connect to the internet for their updates and when I am on Internet Explorer and open the Compuserve website to sign in there, I type my user name and password and click OK and then next thing that happens is it returns to the Compuserve homepage and not my email page.
All of these things happened within the past couple of days and I don't know where to begin to repair this problem.
Thanks,
Dennis

Unable to connect
For a month now I cannot get firefox to work. I am going insane on internet explorer. I can't figure this one out I have tried everyything listed and come to all dead ends. Should I try removing and re installing? I did this once but it didn't completely remove it because all my old settings reverted back on my mozilla so if anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

OK... what I want you to do is download and run this program Enum Process http://www.trolly.homepage.t-online.de/tools.html by trolly, who is a Moderator here.
Copy and paste the output of the program here.. (Use the BBCode Option)
It is more likely your Firewall that is Blocking Firefox.

Now .... I take it you use Trend Micro as your security Software.
Do you use them to provide both your Anti- Virus and Firewall ?
It looks like you have a residual Norton aka Symantic Process running. This could be blocking Firefox.
If you are No longer using Norton, then see this http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ts ... 3108162039
Print off all the screens it suggests, and follow the on screen instructions carefully
For more Firewall info http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firewalls

VM..... The IP addresses say that the EnumProcess output was by emilybelle, so I could tell I was addressing the right person, but only because I can see the IP address.....
But a good point there., as non-moderators cannot see this info on this board.

im sorry it was me i clicked on the direct link and I wasn't logged in.I downloaded the symantec removal tool and ran the process.Mozilla still wont connect though . I followed the windows firewall insrtuctions and trend micro. I unchecked allowing for the windows security to re ask me if mozilla could connect but nothing is popping up.So now I went back and checked to allow it since it doesn't do anything.Any More suggestions??
