Youtube videos pausing
I'm having trouble with videos on youtube.com
After the video starts it will stop playing after 2 seconds. If I move the video slide bar it will advance and when I let it run again it will play for another 2 seconds then stop.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Do you have a firewall or AV program that can block media content?
To be sure: You can start Firefox in -safe-mode to check if your problem is caused by an extension.
If starting in Safe-mode works then disable your extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions or use the option in the Safe-mode window) and re-enable them one by one until you find which one is causing it.
Close and restart Firefox after each change.

And? It's important to tell us what you did and what you found. Do you have any Internet security software? It's common for this to run slowly, and it certainly could slow your access to video.
Also, if there is a problem with any browser setting, a new profile will restore all settings. You can always switch back. Takes about a minute.

Okay.
I tend to leave windows on 24/7 and also my browser stays open along with Outlook. I shut down my system once in a while maybe every four days or so.
I tried running FireFox on safe mode and I still got the pausing video. I have never gotten this situation when I run other browsers.
I run PCcillian security software and the video doesn't just slow down it stops entirely and will not move unless I slide the video bar and then it will only run for two seconds and stop again.

From Tom:
Sounds like you may be getting "choppy reception."

Question: What type of Internet connection do you have? Dial up? DSL? Cable modem? If you have a dial-up connection, then than is the problem. It won't put out bytes fast enough. The workaround is to download the video to your hard drive, then go back and view it. Or, if you can afford it, get a broadband connection.
Hope this helps.
