Firefox can't establish a connection to the server

Post by 79schultz »

This is the message I am getting when using Google Desktop to search my computer. Google Desktop works fine with Internet Explorer. I don't know where to start looking for the problem. I've gone into Windows Firewall and allowed port 4664 and that doesn't help anything.

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:4664

I was testing Firefox 3.0bpre4. (I think that's the number.) I didn't think of that, I've switched back to 2.0.0.12 and it works. Thanks for that question that helped me think of the answer.

Don't forget that your firewall is going to see a new version as a brand new application.
