Thunderbird won't open emails in new window

Post by ilive2playhard »

When I double click on an email in the inbox, or highlight it and press return, it doesn't open in a new window. However, when I click reply or forward, it does.

I've searched these help forums, but can't find anything to help. Do you know why this is?

I'm running Nostalgy, Xnote, Signature Switch, Lightning and Buttons extensions.

I got exactly the same problem, thanks for posting it 'Ilivetoplayhard'! I am quite desparate really because thunderbird is essential in my emailmanaging and I get some 30 mails/day so I really need it.

Is there anybody out here who can help us out on this one with some better answers than ctrl o... It would be greatly appreciated.

info:
- started after I installed some add-ons, if I'm correct after the addon for moving your attachments into your clipboard
- I already tried: uninstalling, all addons are gone
- I run windows, firefox, mcafee virusscan (just scanned btw),...

Thunderbird won't open emails in new window

Disable the copyattachmenttoclipboard 0.4 ...

It worked for me.

This version also makes thunderbird go into the background when you close it!!

My OS is Windows Vista Business.

Check your add-ons -- I had the same issue after upgrading from TB8 to TB9 and it turned out my Thunderbird TestPilot addon was conflicting. Once I disabled that, no problems.
