Bold, italic, and underline (Yahoo mail)

Post by dbadagna »

Hello, I notice that (unlike IE and Microsoft Word), when typing an email in Yahoo Mail, CTRL-B does not make text bold, CTRL-I does not make text italicized, and CTRL-U does not make text underlined. Instead, one gets bookmarks for the first two and source code for the third.

As I don't like to take my fingers off the keyboard if I don't need to, this is a bit problematic.

Is there a way to reset these CTRL commands to do the things I'm used to them doing?

Many thanks for your help.

It would still be great to receive a response about this issue, which is probably a fairly easy fix.

Yahoo doesn't support rich text for Firefox. Users have to depend on an extension. I don't know if this gives one the ability to use the standard keyboard shortcuts.

Thank you very much. I downloaded that but it didn't work. CTRL-B still brings up bookmarks. And I don't know what "Rich Text Editor" means, either.

This person seems to have developed a code-based solution to this problem, but it's not a plugin, just code. Does anyone know how I could install this in order to be able to use CTRL-B for bold, CTRL-I for italics, etc.?

Some sites feature rich text editors that allow you to easily format (bold, italicize, etc.) text. However, some sites have not been coded to work with Firefox and Mozilla Suite's Midas feature; they only work in Internet Explorer.

This should work for Yahoo:

.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Mine has wandered off and I'm out looking for it.

Thank you! I installed that add-on and still in Yahoo Mail when I hit CTRL-B I get bookmarks, not bold.

What was the add-on supposed to do? Automatically make CTRL-B do bold? It didn't work.

Any further ideas of how I can get back to these logical shortcuts (CTRL-B = bold, CTRL-I = italics, etc.)?

Hi, I had the same problem with Gmail. But the add-on, "eWebMail Plus! 1.0" worked great .

Thank you for your help!! =D>

Why did it work for you when for me, after installing it, CTRL-B and CTRL-I still bring up bookmarks, and do not produce bold or italics in Yahoo Mail?

Can someone help with this issue? It's been many months, and no one has produced a solution. CTRL-B and CTRL-I still do not produce bold or italics in Firefox.
