google captcha not working in Firefox

Post by Racer »

Every once in a while, when I search for something using a google keyword search, I get the following response (link):
We're sorry...
... but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.

In IE 7, a captcha appears at the bottom of the page with the text "To continue searching, please type the characters you see below". However, it does not show up in Firefox 2. This means I effectively have to start up IE just to fix the problem.

Does anyone know why this doesn't work in Firefox?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14

It looks like they meant to put the CAPTHA at the bottom but forgot or something:

Code: Select all

<table width=100% cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0>
<tr><td bgcolor=#3366cc><img alt="" width=1 height=3></td></tr>
</table>

The issue is that it works in IE 7 but doesn't in Firefox. I don't know why.
