I installed this extension on FF 3 beta 3 pre (I've modified the rdf file to enable this), and I don't see the menu item this extension is supposed to add. There's only FF's menu item.

Also, changes I make to options are persisted (or displayed correctly?).

I was hoping I'd be able to get a sane window to add bookmarks in FF 3 (the built-in one isn't sane; e.g. pressing Esc saves a bookmark -- by design!!!), but this extension doesn't seem to be working.

disturbedite wrote:dang. i just got around to testing abh2 and it doesn't work for me either. no error msg is thrown in error console. i do have menu editor 1.2.3 but i don't get a conflict with it. maybe it is cuz i'm testing ff trunk?
Add Bookmark Here 2 1.0.20070316
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a4pre) Gecko/20070405 Minefield/3.0a4pre - Build ID: 2007040504

I have tested 1.0.20070316 in latest thunk:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a4pre) Gecko/20070408 Minefield/3.0a4pre
and it works fine.
Can anyone help to confirm the problem.

I installed yesterday the official FF 3.0b3 and abh2 v.1.0.20070528 did not work...I then updated to the latest trunk FF3.0b4pre as you suggested but still to no avail.
BTW I don't have menu editor 1.2.3.
I noticed tho the Extension throws an XML Parsing Error when I click the Options (under about:config the default settings exist)
The Error is:

XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
Location: chrome://abhere2/content/prefsDialog.xul
Line Number 24, Column 9: <checkbox>
--------------------------------------^

hope that helps you further (funny thing tho...under FF 2.0.0.13 it works just fine)

Hello all,
I've rewrote the ABHere2 for working with Firefox 3.

You can download the latest DevBuild version from the following URL:
http://forum.moztw.org/viewtopic.php?t=16450

** Notice: It only supports latest trunk FX3.0b4pre+.

Please let me know if there is any compatible problem with Firefox 3, thank you.

Edit: update new version download URL.

The version I have is 0.5.8 located here.
http://gorgias.de/mfe/
Are you this person? The version numbers seem very different.

Edited to add: Never mind, I just went back through earlier posts here and see that it is a different extension than Add Bookmark Here 0.5.8.

Hello all,

Please help to check if the abhere2-3.0.20080318 compatible with fx3.0b5pre/2008031806 or after.

The AMO editor reports a bug to me, but I cannot reproduce it.

yesterday a patch for adding a new folder while adding a bookmark landed
on Minefield and probably broke your extension. The new folder button
does not work and the box (for the bookmarks tree, I guess) is empty.

This answers my earlier question about the other version:

Problem with bookmark folders in bookmarks toolbar

Post by fukami »

In general I like the customizability added by ABH2 over the old ABH, but ABH2 has a usability problem that made me go back to ABH:

When opening a bookmark folder sitting in the bookmarks toolbar and holding the mouse button down when descending into the folder menu, the menu vanishes as soon as the mouse cursor hits the "add bookmark here" line. Navigating to the individual bookmarks is possible only when releasing the mouse button before moving the mouse down.

Help!

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.13 and ABH2 1.0.20070528 on OpenSUSE 10.3.

yuoo2k : I've been using ABH2 for awhile now, and like it a lot. Thanks for keeping it alive.

There's one thing that the original ABH did, that I miss in this version -- when you added a bookmark to a folder, that folder would automatically be preselected as the target folder the next time you added a bookmark.

Any chance you'd consider adding that feature...?

EDIT: I was wrong about where this feature came from. It's not in the original ABH, but actually Locate in Bookmark Folders. (I used to run so many bookmark extensions on FF2 that it's hard to remember which one did what. )

You can download the latest 3.0.20080604 from AMO.
It is compatible with fx 3.0.

yuoo2k, i'm using 3.0.20080604 and the "open all in tabs" is still missing from the bottom of the bookmark folders. The seperator is there but the open all in tabs is missing. In the Add Bookmark Here options, I have it enabled and set to appear at the bottom. Yet its still not there.

Hi yuoo2k. Would it be possible to add an option to skip the dialog box when u use add bookmark here. Similar to just clicking the star in the url bar where the bookmark is just added and no dialog box pops up. thanks :)
