mark all topics read -> message page can be removed

Post by Alfred Kayser »

The extra message page: 'all topics are marked read' after
the click on the 'mark all topic read' link can be removed.
It is cumbersome and requires an extra click while swiping through the
boards...

Absolutely agree, or at least make it a config option.

Or at least reduce the refresh-delay to - say - one second

I thought that's what was being discussed.

One other request while on the topic - could we make the "Mark All Read" automatically return to the main index? Once all the messages are read, there's not much point staying in the folder. IMHO, of course :-)

I think BartVB means the "mark all forums read" on the bottom of the index page, this thread is about "mark all topics read" in a single forum.

Both message pages are completely unnecessary

Post by velociraptor »

Both the message page shown after marking all topics read and the one shown after marking all forums read are completely useless. What is the information intended to be communicated here? I *know* that I wanted to mark them read, so that is what I expect that happened. If something went wrong with it, ok, show me an error message, but if all went well, dont tell me.

BTW both "mark read" functions should return to the main forum index after the action has been carried out.
After marking a forum read, most people will want to go back to the main forum index instead of staring at a list of uninteresting topics.
