Apologies if this issue has already been addressed. I tried a search and found nothing similar after trawling through 14 pages of results. Anyway, to business...
This PC runs XP, with 2 user accounts: Mine (admin) and my g/f's (user).
Problem:
I use Thunderbird to check my pop or hotmail inboxes from my XP admin account after my g/f has checked her email from her XP user account, this is what I get:
"Could not connect to server pop.isp.com; the connection was refused."
Checking hotmail inbox (with TB & hotmail popper) returns this:
"Could not connect to 127.0.0.1; the connection was refused."
The same thing happens if my g/f checks her inbox after I've checked mine.
Reboot the PC and try again, Thunderbird works perfectly for the first user, but the second user to log on always gets "connection refused".
Apart from this one niggling problem, Thunderbird is easily the best email client we've used so far... and we've tried pretty much all of 'em.
Thanks in advance for any help.
