I made a couple cool animated Firefox launcher icons using DesktopX and the fox in the right side of your original picture.

Check em out, 2 versions in 2 different installation options.

If you don't have the Stardock DesktopX program installed, download one of these standalone icon files. They will only launch a Firefox in the default directory of C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe.

Download http://home.comcast.net/~psaffell/firefoxlauncher.zip for a fox that rotates his head, with the word Firefox coming out of his tail.
Download http://home.comcast.net/~psaffell/firefoxlaunch.zip for the fox without the text coming out his tail.

IF YOU HAVE DESKTOPX,

Download http://home.comcast.net/~psaffell/firefox.dxpack for the fox with the text as a Desktopx Object.
Download http://home.comcast.net/~psaffell/firefox1.dxpack for the fox without the text as a Desktopx Object.

Let me know what you think!!!

I made a animated gif of the one without text, if you can see it...

http://home.comcast.net/~psaffell/thefox.gif

When you hover over it, his head swings right, then when the mouse leaves it swings back left, it isn't a continuous loop like in the gif.

I would like to start making some icons but does anyone know of an good (and free) icon editors? I have GIMP but I would like something more specialised for icons.

http://www.stardock.com/products/icondeveloper/

I don't know if this would help. I also can't seem to find where to download it from.

Nice, but I don't see how it resembles a Lesser Panda...
Running Mac OS X, Windows XP, and Mandrake 9.2 - on different machines, of course.
