Thunderbird For Dummies. Anyone willing to help?

Post by trovanto »

Computer world is so tough and ruthless... Every single day you re-discover how ignorant you are...

I have just downloaded and installed Thunderbird. The first trouble occured while sending the first message. I was supposed to register some data about outcomig and incoming server. Where can I get it from? I only know I am 83.157 etc, and my provider is somewhat 212.129 etc. Could you please help me out?

That information is provided by your ISP.

If you have another email program that is working, you should be able to find the information there and transfer it to Thunderbird.

You need to find out the following info:

* Your email address
* Incoming (POP3) server
* Outgoing (SMTP) server
* login (user) name and password

From your ISP or from your already-working other email client.

Isn't there an "import settings" in Thunderbird?
