They've shut down the playground, and the new name is...
What??! The long and quite redundant name thread has been closed, locked and the key thrown away. So again I wonder...What has the browser been named? That thread was an "After Dark" kind of hangout for a great many of the faithful, often becoming it's own off-topic subject. I'm sure I'm not the only one missing it.

That wasn't exactly the point of the post, but I'm very honored to be considered! Actually, I don't care what you call it or when you name it (by the way, "fingerprint" has a much better ring to it.). I just wondered why the name thread was (again) locked.

They locked it before. Then someone started a new name thread. Then they unlocked the name thread again. That thread has been off topic for more than a month.

Is that all? It seemed like much longer! You'd really never expect a name change thread to grow to that size. But then, did anyone (anyone at all) think that they would take this much time to name it? Seems like a lot of unnecessary pressure has been put on, doesn't it? Since we've had so much time to think, pretty much any name is gonna suck! (Except Equinox, of course )alanjstr wrote:That thread has been off topic for more than a month.

I'm pretty confident they won't choose an outrageously lame-ass name. Equinox, Paradigm, Sphinx, whatever. so long as they pick SOMETHING...

Use that name and you could market it as a wireless, XML-enabled browser guaranteed to bring you mindshare in a hectic eBusiness environment, where initiatives that aren't seamless in a B2B-sense are frowned upon. Brilliant!
To the cast and crew of Arrested Development: Thanks for the many great laughs.

Naming conventions...
For some reason, the name 'Apex' just sounds good to me. It fits. The Apex browser!
