The executable files are 7-Zip SFX Self-Extracting Executables. The extract will go to the Thunderbird directory tree where you place it. 20040528 AVIARY builds were up.

In these builds, extension (Quote Colors) seems to work fine after reinstall it. But I have no time to test it in detail. Comments are welcome.

In my opinion, MOZILLA_1_7 branch builds are stable to use. If you wanna try new feature, AVIARY build may be a good choice for you.

BTW, Enigmail can be installed, but cant be configured in these builds.

20040531 trunk build for SSE2 processors is working fine here. Extensions still work fine from older versions (specifically I am using QuoteColors and Outbox).

On Firefox, the trunk has been more stable than branch. Is this also true of Thunderbird?

Do I read this right that there are 3 branches?
  • 0.6+ Branch (AVIARY_1_0_20040515, Thunderbird 1.0 branch)
  • 0.6+ Branch (MOZILLA_1_7_BRANCH, Mozilla 1.7 branch)
  • 0.6 Branch (THUNDERBIRD_0_6_BRANCH, Mozilla 1.7 branch)

In my opinion, I think so if the branch you mean was AVIARY. Perhaps the answer from The Q is more actual.

TB Official nightly branch builds may be from AVIARY, but I am not sure.

  • 0.6 Branch (THUNDERBIRD_0_6_BRANCH, Mozilla 1.7 branch)

I will continue for MOZILLA_1_7 builds until AVIARY builds are stable. You could see THUNDERBIRD_0_6_BRANCH builds as "TB 0.6 service pack". I can't explain that clearly, but in a certain sense, they are indeed.

anywan, 20040603 trunk builds were available. Tomorrow will be "AVIARY" day..

Any coomments are welcome.

Just found a small bug in the 20040603 SSE2 Trunk build - when you create a new account and tell it not to compose in HTML, then click OK, it forgets the setting and stays with the Compose in HTML behaviour.

I tried mmoy's build of 20040531 (also SSE2) and it remembers the setting.

The other account options seem to be remembered; only the Compose in HTML setting seems to be forgotten. I haven't tried a new profile but I'm not sure that would fix it since my old profile works fine with mmoy's build. Other than that everything still works fine!

I don't know if it is only me but I'm facing a quite annoying bug. When I do a reply and try to drag and drop an attachment from one mail to the new one two things happen. First I cannot see the attachment and second TB every second time it crashes - version 0.6+ (20040603-pigfoot)

How does one identify an Aviary (aka Branch) vs. Trunk build after installation? What to look for?

Thanks.

When you install first extension in Aviary, it will create new a folder "extensions" to store some information, but Trunk not (until now).

I can't find any obvious mark/label to identify which build it is.
