Tutorial: How to upgrade to Firefox 1.0PR

Step 0: Download
Download Firefox 1.0PR here
Save "Firefox Setup 1.0PR.exe" to your desktop.

Step 1: Uninstall Firefox 0.9.x
Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs
Select Firefox 0.9.x and remove

Step 2: Install Firefox 1.0PR
Double click the installer.
Choose default settings

You dont need to delete your profile
However, it is always a good idea to keep a backup of your profile.

bookmarks.html // bookmarks
user.js and prefs.js // preferences
cookies.text and cookperm.txt (or hostperm.1) // cookies
signon.txt and key3.db // passwords

Your profile is at %APPDATA%/mozilla/firefox

The %APPDATA% shortcut is not available in Win 9x/ME.

Profiles in that OS are found under C:\Windows\Application Data\ (single user system)
or under C:\Windows\Profiles\username\Application Data\ (multiuser setup)
