Tiff Attachments in Thunderbird

Post by Kailas »

I just added a comment and voted for bug 160261 in Bugzilla. Everyone here on our team/LAN uses Mail.app. They send me screen shots and Mac OS X default file format for incoming graphics pasted into mail.app is "pasteGraphic.tiff" which then is not rendered in the body of the email in TB... I have to open it in Photoshop. I'm surprised more people are not bringing up this issue as the bug is there since 2002 and only has 25 votes. Since it seems nearly a "dead" issue I was wondering if there was some extension or workaround that people are using (and thus they don't feel impelled to vote on it...) Is there a way to view *.tiff in HTML emails in TB?

Thunderbird 3 should be able to display some embedded TIFFs if you have a suitable plugin. Look for Firefox plugins that work with the kind of TIFFs you need to view. (Not all TIFFs are the same.)

I do not know any way to display TIFFs that are simply inline (not embedded) images.
