Firefox Loads but doesn't open

I normally connect to the net via Firefox but have been unable to do so since Friday. When I check task manager Firefox is running but nothing launches. I've tried re installing it (was 3.0.9 now 3.0.10) to no effect. For the record I'm also running Avast and Zone Alarm and Firefox appears to 'have permission' to connect through the firewall. I'm not running adobe flashplayer if its relevant. Oh, Thunderbird launches ok as do other browsers.

If Firefox just updated please see the following..
It's most likely your firewall.
With Firefox closed, open your firewall & delete all instances of Firefox.
Re-open Firefox for it to be re-detected.
