I wonder if users of other themes are as enchanted as we are?

I too agree this is THE theme to have. I'm not much of a theme person.. most times it's just small things I change..not a whole theme..but this one is just different. I got it in the first place because of the darkness..but it's a great theme all around. THANKS!

SocialD wrote: I also apologize if this has been answered before but I just downloaded NNL and get the new toolbar but still have the same white background on the main page. I cut and pasted this into usercontent.css and now when open FF it momentarily goes to the shuttle screen but it goes away and back to the standard background.
Are you talking about in the Firefox toolbar (up where the back and forward buttons are) or down in the content area, where web pages appear?
If you're talking about the content area, do you mean when showing an empty tab (like a new tab, before a page has been loaded) or a tab containing a certain page?
It also brings up a sightspeed toolbar that is not normally there. Any ideas.
Could you give me a screenshot?

It should be the same all the time, except in cases when you've zoomed the page and zoom includes images (in which case the scrollbars zoom too).

Kosiguru wrote:I am sorry to bother you mcdavis but I am at my wits end. I cannot get this to go away. It happens in all skins so I realize that it's not your themes fault; in default it just shows a black background. If I could just figure out where it's pointing to that image I can replace it with something brighter so I can see(I never use default so nothing else really matters). It's not stylish, either.
If this is still a problem, I'd guess it's something in your userContent.css file. Maybe you could post a copy?

Re: New Theme: NASA Night Launch
ANNOUNCEMENT
I'm now officially deprecating and un-recommending the use of code in userContent.css to style the background of empty tabs with NASA Night Launch. The old userContent.css method works but definitely has its problems:
1. You have to restart Firefox for it to take effect after editing userContent.css.
2. If you wanted to undo the effect (such as when switching themes), you have to again edit userContent.css and again restart Firefox.
3. It's all too easy to get confused about whether to edit userContent.css or userChrome.css, and why there were two files with almost identical names doing almost-but-not-quite identical things. The naming makes perfect sense of you're one of the people creating browsers, but not so much for end users.
4. It's hard for people to even find the file to edit.
5. For most users, not knowing the "programming language" (CSS) of userContent.css, it's hard for them to have confidence that they can edit this file without messing something up. No one should be asked to do that.
So, I'm now recommending the new method, which is to use Stylish plus Userstyle 11979 - Launch Image for Empty Tabs. If you want to try this:
1. Install Stylish from AMO
2. Restart Firefox
3. Install Userstyle 11979 in Stylish
The main benefit of the new (Stylish-based) method is that it's easy to turn it on and off without restarting Firefox. To turn it off (or back on) just go to Stylish's "Manage Styles" window and disable (or re-enable) Userstyle 11979.
This is important because both the new and old methods share one weakness: they sometimes apply themselves to rectangular regions of common web pages, of which Google Mail is sometimes an example. There's no way (at present, using Firefox theme technologies) to apply the background image to empty tabs without also sometimes applying it to parts of web pages. This is why it's important to be able to turn it on and off: if it's in the way, just disable the style, and if you want it then turn it back on again. No need to restart Firefox.
If you have code in userContent.css to style empty tabs, you should strongly consider taking it out and using Stylish and 11979 instead.
Also stated more verbosely here on the Night Launch News blog.

Re: New Theme: NASA Night Launch
mc,
I would like to copy my stylish css from my Linux version of Firefox. But since I can't open it right now, I can't export the code. Do you have any idea where it's located or the name of the file?

For the new version from Stylish - stylish.sqlite in your profile folder. Older versions could use a stylish.rdf

What sort of man would put a known criminal in charge of a major branch of government? Apart from, say, the average voter.

I actually hope we don't make them round. They are wonderfully slick and clean as they are. Why would anyone want to round something that is so well done?
