From a quick glance, it doesn't look like I can hide an account just in the folderpane without hiding it from the rest of the program. Is there any reason why you'd want to do that?

I believe hiding accounts is a new feature implimented in the nightlies. The last build I tested to check theme support hid all e-mail accounts under a single user name by default. I had to select something in the account settings (can't remember specifically what) in order to get them all to show as before.
Still passionate for Mozilla themes and extensions, just not actively developing them for public release anymore.

I just installed this and it works like a charm for rearrangin accounts. Bravo!
For some reason, the Options dialog lists Local Folders twice. My five accounts (3 POP and 2 IMAP) are all listed only once, with the default just above the list. Any reason why Local Folders would be there twice? The way I have this profile set up, the mail files for all the POP accounts are stored outside the profile folder itself, if that matters.
Also, is there any chance you could please add a tiny note in tbe Options dialog saying that the default account will be first? I know this is plainly stated on the homepage for the extension, but I suspect a lot of people won't read this or will forget about it later.
Thanks for (another) nice extension!

Yeah, I was wondering if I should include that the "default account listed first" info on the dialog. I'll add it in the next release.
Just wondering, were you able to rearrange the Local Folders and place it in the midst of other mail folders? I think (or it might just be me) that Local Folders is always placed under all mail folders and above all news folders unless it is set as the default account (in which case it is listed at the top). I may have to split up the listboxes into mail accounts and news accounts with Local Folders in the middle.
Can you check your prefs.js for the <b>mail.accountmanager.accounts</b> pref to see if an account is listed twice? If there is, then that would explain the two Local Folders. You should be able to safely delete the duplicate if it exists. If not, then I will see if I can put in some duplicate checking routine into the listbox.
Also, RAF, if you are create other accounts for the purpose of sending mail from different addresses, you should check out <a href="http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.phtml?title=Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Multiple_Identities">Thunderbird Identities</a>. If you want a global inbox, the feature is currently being implemented and is included with recent nightly builds.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Nope, I can't do this. I think I recall reading in some forum threads about this prefs.js setting that Local Folders always appears at the bottom of the mail accounts, and then newsgroups below that.

Yep, there was indeed a duplicate. Prefs.js indicated that the duplicate was supposed to be stored on disk in a subfolder named Local Folders-1 but the account itself was named Local Folders. It must have been created one day when TB burped. Presumably because they both had the same name, there was only one Local Folders listed in my folders pane.
Just out of curiousity, I went ahead and edited prefs.js so that the second Local Folders was named Local Folders-1 (and I even created a dummy set of Local Folders-1 in the Mail folder in the profile folder). Sure enough, when I restarted TB, there was now a Local Folders-1 listed in the folders pane. I was hoping this would allow me to delete Local Folders-1 via Tools > Account Settings, but no such luck. It's undeletable, just like Local Folders, so I guess I'll remove it manually through prefs.js. (EDIT: I figured out that if I modified the line user_pref("mail.server.server2.type", "none"); so that "none" is replaced with "pop3", the account can then be deleted through Account Settings just like any regular mail account.)
By the way, I've already edited the following kb page to direct people to this extension. There are lots of forum threads about how to change account order, so I'm sure this extension will come in handy for many people.

Seeing number of messages in Thunderbird folder pane
Does anybody know how to enable one to see the number of messages read and unread in the folder pane? I know that Mozilla Mail client has this feature but I would like to be able to do this in Thunderbird as well

Working for 0.9?
I've upgraded to Thunderbird 0.9, and this extension still allows me to start in my inbox, but I can't rearrange my accounts. Any chance of an update?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I believe the extension is working as expected. A couple links with relevant info:
