Add Search engines to SM
I forgot how to add search engines to the search function in SM. How do you do it?
I added dogpile once and never found the option to do it again.
BTW, any other recommended search engines?
Thanks!

So OpenSearch implementation is not a core Gecko function?
Gecko
One Rendering Engine to rule them all.

For the firefox search bar, try this extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/3767 it works in SM 2.0 if you disable version checking

Thanks, Wildcard. I'm not to crazy about adding an add-on that is no longer being maintained into a beta browser though. I sure wish someone would continue with MonkeyMenu. I May give it a shot, though anyway.

Because I use many search engines when on Firefox, and using a bookmark/bookmarklet is too much real estate. And besides,
the ability to add search engines is suppose to work. I didn't realize that only those with the "apple" logo would work. Seems
most of what I'd want for a search engine with the apple logo aren't in English or just isn't available with the apple.
I long for the customizable search bar like in Firefox.

From my Firefox 3.5.1:
Which is one reason I use Firefox when I'm searching for things. SeaMonkey is in dire need of a search functionality overhaul.
The combination of "manage search engines" and the Firefox extension Add To Search Bar make Firefox's search function the
best of any browser, bar none.
I started a thread in SeaMonkey Builds about 2.0 and search here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1380105

Re: Add Search engines to SM
I don't know about SM2, but can't you just copy the .xml file from the FF profile over to the SM profile? Thats what I did in SM1 to get one of them working.
