Assuming I set up the ftp directory correctly, it will show up here::
ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/2003-04-23-trunk/

Things of note in this build:
1) Includes almost 2MB of footprint reduction in the size of the zip.

2) Includes a new default start page designed by David Tenser

3) If you make thunderbird your default mail client again using this build, we now set the right window keys to make mailto urls in Firebird launch Thunderbird. (http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=202497)
Note: we are currently failing to insert the right information in the compose window. Still working on that.

4) The new mail icon in the status bar is broken. You will probably see a yellow hazard sign. When collapsing the mail DLLs into one, I broke the system tray icon we use for new mail and haven't figured out how to fix it yet.

Enjoy and as always please post about any huge issues that I may have missed when smoketesting this build (such as not being able to send or get mail =)).

Feels faster. Where is the "set default mail handler".

Umm, David, shouldn't there be a link to mozilla.org (main page) *somewhere* on the <a href="http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thunderbird/index.html" title="Thunderbird Mail Project Page">Thunderbird Mail Project Page</a>? Otherwise, I like it a lot.

Click on the Powered by Gecko link to go to the mozilla.org page.

For those of you that feel it runs faster, I believe this is attributed to collapsing a lot of the mailnews dlls into a single dll (mail.dll). I'm glad to hear that you can notice the speed improvement.

What happened to the Views dropdown that's usually beside the Search bar? Has it been removed permanently?

the 'new mail' icon is a lot of fun, i'd have to say. :)

so ... now that tb has a nightlies folder, does that indicate that we will start to see more regular nightlies soon? (who compiles these builds? is it automated or is that something yet to come when more regular nightlies arrive?)

Hmm no that hasn't been intentionally removed. It is there for me. It's probably a packaging error on my part as part of all the footprint reduction work I did.

Will make sure this is back again in the next set of builds.

The builds aren't automated. I am making these windows builds when I think enough work has happened to warrant a new build. I just re-organized the ftp directory which was becoming quite messy by mimicing the nightly build structure used by mozilla and firebird.

This doesn't not mean I'll be spinning up a build every night =). Hey, I gotta spend time working on Thunderbird at night too =).

Maybe a stupid question, but how can I make sure I keep all my preferences and filters? It was a lot of work to make it useful for me, don't wanna lose all that

What "Powered by Gecko" link? I don't see one on the Thunderbird page...

Sorry, I thought you ment the new start page in Thunderbird (<a href="http://lxr.mozilla.org/mozilla/source/mail/base/locale/start.html">http://lxr.mozilla.org/mozilla/source/mail/base/locale/start.html</a>), not the project start page. I'm not responsible for the project start page (although I did make the top graphics/color scheme).
