There have always been ghosts in the machine... random segments of code that have grouped together to form unexpected protocols. Unanticipated, these free radicals engender questions of free will, creativity, and even the nature of what we might call the soul...

^^ Seems a legitimate question about the user's Web page. I moved it to Web Dev.
^ I think we can let a nine month-old thread continue.

I'm hoping the 30MBps lasts. This is really nice and I'm getting spoiled. The local telco DSL provider is now advertising the "fastest speeds in town" at 18MBps. Now, it is faster than the cable company's advertised speed, but far lower than the actual speed. When the guy came to my door to try to sell me the new telco service, I just laughed. ;-)

Is there not a College or University nearby that was hogging your connection during school year?

Mr. Speedy here, trying to atone for the other night's bout of insomnia and alcohol. Not really excusable, even if it has been quite a while since I lost it like that. Please split this off, Frank's been nothing but kind and helpful to me and I didn't mean to aggravate him...

I'm going to let LoudNoise deal with the splitting. He is the so-called Mod in charge on that thread.

Everything else is done.

The university is four blocks away, and yes, my speeds usually go way down around Sept. 1 when Time Warner overloads the nodes with all the students coming back. I have to direct phone number for the field supervisor now. He gets the node split pretty quickly after I call. ;-)
