Connection to server pop3.live.com timed out

I have installed TB with the two add-ons Webmail and Webmail-Hotmail. I keep getting the error message "Connection to server pop3.live.com timed out". I am using Outlook Express with Windows Live Hotmail. Please help me correct this error.

You do not need the Webmail extensions any longer to be able to send and receive via a Hotmail/Live account. Go ahead and remove them. Then make sure your account settings are:

Incoming (POP)
Server name: pop3.live.com
Port: 995
User Name: Your full e-mail address
Security: [*] SSL (do not check "Use secure authentication")

Outgoing (SMTP)
Server Name: smtp.live.com
Port: 587
User Name: Your full e-mail address
Secure Connection: TLS

I uninstalled the two add-ons, restarted TB and I am still getting this error. TB doesn't read my emails from the pop3 hotmail account. The timed out error comes about 15 seconds after starting TB or clicking on Get Mail.

Absolutely. I tried to copy them and paste here to show you, but TB server settings won't let you sellect more than one parameter at the time. I don't see a way to attach a JPEG or TIF file here for you to see either. This forum facility is very limited. I am ready to give up on TB. It supposed to be the best but I am dissappointed.

I don't know about uninstall the xpi packeages but the rest of your instructions were the best

I put settings exactly as posted .... still pop3.live.com is timed out.

Nevermind, I put port 955, instead of 995... apperantly thats a big deal lol.
