Why doesn't Thunderbird delete my email from my suddenlink.net account after I delete it in Thunderbird

* Which version of Thunderbird? Check Help>About for the version number.
* What kind of mail - POP, IMAP?
* Do you regularly compact your folders? Weekly or more often is strongly recommended. Check http://kb.mozillazine.org/Compacting_folders for more information on compacting folders.

Everything I can find online seems to indicate Suddenlink.net offers only POP access.

.. then, in the left pane, under your suddenlink.net account, Server settings
[ ] Leave messages on server
- [ ] For at most [XX] days
[ ] Until I delete them
