Add another to the list of growing discontent over the lack of a working (and reliable) Palm synch.

Ditto, waiting (somewhat) patiently.

I also think that syncing the TB address book with palm's one is a great trouble but this is a highly wanted feature of many TB users. Maybe developing a such conduit is a great challenge. Are there any work-around? Such as syncing TB's address book to Outlook/Express 's address books and let Hotsync do the sync between palm's address book and Outlook/Express 's address book.

Frankly, the email features of TB are excellent but some "minor" problem may cause many users to switch back to Outlook/OE.

Is there still no new version of the the palmsync-extension? I really don't like using Outlook anymore... Or maybe someone has figured out some kind of work around?

Too bad you can't vote for bugs there.

Address Book Palm Sync is available in the latest versions of Netscape. Check out:

http://wp.netscape.com/eng/mozilla/ns7/relnotes/7.html

Obviously, Palm Sync is being maintained with each release of Netscape. Palm Sync is also available in the current release of Mozilla (v1.7). Check out:

http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla ... xtras.html

I find it quite irritating that, as a T-Bird 0.7.3 user, I do not have Palm Sync while Palm Sync is supported for the older versions of T-Bird and the latest versions of both Netscape and Mozilla.

Palm Sync is installed as part of the overall Mozilla/Netscape installation setup and not as an extension. So, an extension wrapper is obviously not used. Nevertheless, the necessary resources have been devoted to Netscape and Mozilla to ensure that Palm Sync is available with the newer software versions and a similar commitment has not been made to Palm Sync on T-Bird.

Palm Sync was available on the earlier versions of T-Bird which resulted in many Palm users migrating to T-Bird. The problem right now is that there are two significant security patches that have been released for the current version of T-Bird (.73), however, Palm users cannot migrate to .73 since Palm Sync doesn't work. In the mean time all of the Palm users are stuck back at version .6 without the features offered by .7x including the security patches that were introduced in .72 and .73.

mozilla.org was very proud of its response to the recent security problems and many in the Mozilla community bragged loudly about how quickly and effectively that mozilla.org responded. Nobody seems to have noticed that Palm users were left behind and remain exposed to the malware for which T-Bird versions 0.72 and 0.73 provide protection.

What would the pundits say about Microsoft if it released two security patches for Outlook that omitted the entire Palm user base and left it vunerable?

Hello, even if I don't have Palm support (which I need for sure) I am moving to TB 0.72, I am tired of using Outlook and being exposed to so many viruses and security problems.

I hope we can soon know about a Palm sync extension which works with TB and Calendar.

Best regards!

Hello Everybody,

David Bienvenu has posted a new Palm Sync extension for T-Bird 0.8 and it appears to work right out of the box with T-Bird 0.7x. I installed and tested it with T-Bird 0.73 and everything appeared to function properly on my first installation attempt. Thanks David!

The extension can be found at:

http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=214407

Finally....

FYI,

I can confirm it works on 0.7 as well.

hello,
