Can someone please explain to me what this means?
"1. (best option) USE THE file npmozax.dll (104 KB) that ships with Netscape 7.2 then follow instructions below for editing/replacing activex.js file"
Do I have download and install netscape 7.2 just to get this file? And then once I get it, what the hell am I supposed to do with it???

When giving this advice please note that the file NPMOZAX.DLL from Plugin for Moz 1.7 is DIFFERENT from the one that ships with Netscape 7.2. Also PLEASE note that while the Plugin for Moz 1.7 works ok too, the NETSCAPE version is PREFERABLE & MORE COMPATIBLE.din100 wrote:ok here is wat u do

This is assuming u followed instructions in the original post and u just need the Netscape version of npmozax.dll.....Vectorspace wrote:Where can you get the Netscape plugin?
Download browser.xpi and skip to step 6 below....
OR
1. download netscape 7.2
2. doubleclick to start installation But VERY IMPORTANT!! DO NOT click "Next"
3. go to your system's Temp folder (often located C:\Windows\Temp)
in your temp folder locate folder called "ns_temp"
4. Copy the file "browser.xpi" to another location
5. Close Netscape 7.2 Installer
6. rename bowser.xpi to browser.zip
7. Unzip browser.zip and locate locate the the file npmozax.dll (105,840 KB) in the plugins folder
8. copy to Firefox plugins folder

This is a bit much
...just to access one lousy site. I can't believe Yahoo! (which runs on BSD) is such a slave to Microsoft
(which has products that compete with Yahoo!), it makes no sense.
I'll just forgo Launch.com until they get their act together and support something besides WMP and/or don't require ActiveX controls.

@AnonEmoose
I tried refreshing my plugins by typing about:plugins in the URL bar. Flash menus still wouldn't load. (with Monkeesage's plugin)
I tried replacing Monkeesage's npmozax.dll with the netscape 7.2 version. That worked, but... When I view video's on startrek.com (please, no teasing about this) the video is blank until I right-click on the video and select options, then cancel the options menu.
I tried installing ActiveX Plugin for Moz 1.7 and replacing npmozax.dll with the netscape 7.2 version. That worked.
However, I don't know why you reccomend the Monkeesage plugin over the Netscape one for users without Adblock. Could you enlighten me?
P.S. The flash menu that wouldn't load was also on startrek.com
P.P.S. All attempts were made with the modified ActiveX.js file

I recommend the Netscape 7.2 version (even over the 1.7 from Adam's Site).. the MonkeeSage version is just a 3rd choice for FF 1.0PR user's who DON'T use Adblock.
It is an absolute NOT if u use AdBlock.
since there are still 0.9 users and since many people where already using the MonkeeSage version when they upgraded to FF 1.0PR i kept references to that version in the first post.
I tested on startrek.com too and both the Netscape or the 1.7 version works and flash works just fine too

I see, thanks. It's just your instructions give the impression that Monkeesage's is the first choice:
FOR FireFox 1.0PR Users ONLY
...IF YOU USE ADBLOCK EXTENSION DO NOT USE THE PLUGIN by MonkeeSage...
FOR FireFox 0.9 & higher OR FireFox 1.0PR(without AdBlock installed) Users
You give the link to Monkeesage's, and you say that the netscape version is more compatable than the Mozilla 1.7 version. It isn't clear that the Netscape version is the first choice.

sorry about that, i thought it was clear since right below that quote i also wrote....
ActiveX Plugin for Moz 1.7 is ok with FF 1.0PR (but Netscape 7.2 is more compatible).

You say that 1.0PR users shouldn't use Monkeesage's if they use adblock.
For those that don't have adblock, you give the link to Monkeesage's. Then, you sat thay Moz 1.7's is ok but that netscape is better.
It implies that Monkeesage's is the first choice, then Moz 1.7's, then Netscape's.
No offense intended, otherwise your guide is perfect. I think it just needs this one thing clarified.

Can someone please e-mail me an edited activex.js file with the above changes? Send it to wwesd6@gmail.com. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
