Adobe flash player not working

I installed latest version adobe flash player and keep getting the following error message:
ERROR OPENING FILE FOR WRITING
c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\mpswf32.dll
click abort to stop the installation
retry to try again
or ignore to skip this file

I tried RETRY that didn't work so I chose 'skip this file' and it said the adobe flash was installed; however it didn't work. it said i needed the plugin and of course the whole thing started over with the above error message.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash player to no avail. H E L P

The problem is with the Adobe plug-in and not with Firefox. Moving from Firefox Bugs to Firefox Support.

Try to run the Flash installer as Administrator via the right click context menu.
