Windows 7 Taskbar Thumbnails

Post by ZonkSJx »

Hello.

Just a general question. Does anyone happen to know if SeaMonkey will be implementing the compatibility with windows 7 taskbar thumbnail previews? (tabs via thumbnail previews)

Can you elaborate a bit on what you mean? I don't understand what you're asking.

I believe he (or she?) is asking about a preview for each tab in a SM window when you hold the mouse over the SM task in Taskbar. When you mouse over the IE task, you get a preview (or thumbnail) of each tab.

It's the other way around. Firefox 3.6 has support for the Win7 tab thumbnails in the dock. This feature hasn't been ported to SeaMonkey yet.

FF 3.5.7 or 3.6 do not show thumbnails of all tabs in the FF app window. It does show the thumbnail for the active tab, though. At least that is the result I got on Win7 x64.

Oops, You're right. Sorry.

http://www.windows7hacker.com/index.php/2010/01/enable-firefox-3-6-taskbar-preview-in-windows-7/

Image

To enable,

1. Type about:config and press Enter in the address bar.

2. Type browser.taskbar in the Filter box, and double-click the browser.taskbar.previews.enable to enable the setting. Double-click it again to disable it.

3. Enjoy.

The change takes effect right away. Once it’s done, you will notice its icon change on the taskbar. It looks just like what IE shows, having the taskbar preview right built in.

Thanks, Phil, for the info. Do you know why it isn't enabled by default?

I don't know. Performance issues, I guess.
