Opera 10.10 is supposed to be 40% faster than the previous release. It has improvements to it's Presto rendering engine and has a feature called Turbo that compresses webpages if you are using a slow connection. We are currently in something of a speed-race with the new browser war and Opera has apparently decided it was tired of being lumped with IE in terms of speed. I've never used it because I found Opera's interface unintuitive and it's feature-set to largely be things I didn't want distracting my browsing experience.

Also, Mozilla is not done improving Firefox, the Lorentz update for 3.6 should help performance and stability when running plugin-heavy pages like YouTube. Firefox 3.7 will offer even more JavaScript speed enchancement, support for multi-core processors, and multiple processes for tabs... although I'm personally on the fence about whether that actually speeds anything up or just makes the browser more memory hungry a'la Chrome.
