I concur! Moreover, I would love to see all my bookmarks NOT alpha-sorted, but bookmark folders first, kinda like hard drive listing.

Is there any objection here if I move this subject to the Extensions forum? Since this functionality doesn't exist, and I doubt it will ever be made part of the core code, it's prime extension material. (BTW: I love this idea. It would emulate one of the good features of Windows XP - the Program Menu that puts the most commonly used applications you've run at the top. I'd do this within each folder, and put the folder with the greatest number of "hits" above others.)

I recall that on Blake's blog the idea was in the comments to his first (Firefox 2.0 ideas) post.

What you're after is how Powermarks currently works. I too am looking to replace Powermarks with such functionality as it doesn't work right with Firefox. Hopefully someone can make this into an extension (bookmarks need a field which increments by one each time you click on them).
Get my current Proxomitron filters and Firefox CSS files here.
