Re: UnKnown Plugin in Firefox Plugin list
Unless someone else knows better, all info I found on Google about the plugin mention a PC infection. Have you scanned you PC lately?
Install and run these programs.

What sort of man would put a known criminal in charge of a major branch of government? Apart from, say, the average voter.

Re: UnKnown Plugin in Firefox Plugin list
On Windows XP the Malware remover just deleted all the folder contents under:
C:Program Files\Motive
C:Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Motive
Which, then I figured it would no longer show up under Firefox plugin list, but it was still there, so I had to search computer for the plugin .dll and found it in: C:Program Files\Common Files\Motive, then I had to use an Application called Unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/)to delete that Folder during boot-up, because it wouldn't delete any other way. Now the Motive Plugin is no longer listed in Firefox plugin list.
Thanks for the help both u guys.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motive for me contains, amongst other things, the software that the Verzion tech installed when they hooked up FiOS. Are you sure this is malware related?

howdy y'all,
as 4am said, it's usually installed by your isp software kit. it can be removed with no serious side effects. it is apparently made by alcatel-lucent and is licensed to many isp groups for doing tech support.
mine was installed when i had to set up my vdsl kit. it's part of the "at&t self support tool". at&t _required_ it before they would authenticate my vdsl modem/router combo. [*sigh ...*]
take care,
lee
