http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/ ... 6-11-trunk
Changes include: 1) The ability to install themes through the Tools / Options / Themes panel. See http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thunderbird/ for more details. 2) New preview image for the default theme 3) More overlapy collapsing work from Stephen Walker to improve performance 4) Hide a bunch of address book columns by default 5) Improve the look of captions in the address book and junk mail dialog. 6) Windows file picker on Win XP is now the WinXP styled file picker 7) Unix builds should have a file picker for the first time, thanks to a fix from André 8 ) The windows build is now zipped underneath a thunderbird folder per another thread discussion. Linux and Mac builds will be up shortly courtesty of André and Don as always. Known Issues: 1) We don't remember your theme setting across sessions. The fix for this just missed the 6-11 release. I'll probably replace the windows build tomorrow with a version that has this fix. For now look in defaults\all.js and remove the line: pref("general.skins.selectedSkin", "classic/1.0"); if this issue is a problem for you. [Edit: The windows build has been updated to fix the known issue where your theme choice is not persistent. Download it again for the fix] -Scott Last edited by mscott on June 17th, 2003, 10:40 pm, edited 6 times in total.
Thunderbirds are Go!

It does feel faster in a way... very nice
* The UI for the "themes preferences" needs some work, but I'm sure you know that. * Same goes for the new captions on the Junk Controls.. they look strange? * The label/checkbox for the "Enable junk mail controls" are clickable all the way (width 100%) * Can we have a "latest trunk" folder? on the FTP... For the web installer? Please? * Would be nice if the whole UA string would be shown in a textarea in the About dialog... Like firebird... Nice build, I was hoping for some more work on the default theme, but I can wait :) Tom Sommer - http://tsn.dk - http://dreamcoder.dk - http://blog.dreamcoder.dk

Yes, damm those Nets. Was rooting hard for the Spurs, but am a Mavericks & Celtics fan at heart. I hope to tackle extensions in the next week or so. It will work the same way as themes. You'll need to download the extension using a browser and then you'll be able to click on an Install Extension button inside thunderbird. Thunderbirds are Go!

This is looking so good, I think I'll show this app at the next MUG meeting tomorrow night.
I especially like the idea of showing off the new themes support. Should be fun. -Don

I just downloaded 611 and I don't see an install theme button in the options/themes dialog.

Sorry Scott.
I can hardly believe that my patch doesn't work with thunderbird. The reason seems to be the difference between qute.jar and classic.jar. <a href="http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/noririty/">noririty</a>

It is there, it's just outside of the visible window area, I guess... Try hitting Tab a few times, the install button should get the focus right after the "Download new themes" link. Then just hit Enter or Space and you should get the file dialog.

When trying to get the Phoenity theme working again I noticed a lot of css code being moved from folderPane.css and threadPane.css to mailWindow1.css and searchDialog.css. But, a lot of the moved code now is in BOTH the css files? Why?
I got Phoenity working again... Comparing took me quite some time though _edit______ The install-theme button doesn't work... For all of you that didn't notice that when reading noririty's post Actually, the button does work, you'll get a filepicker dialog, it says it's installing the theme, but it never shows up in the theme list. It seems to be hidden at the far right edge of the dialog. I can see a few millimeters of it, but that's it. Aside from that little glitch, great work Scott (and Stephen)!

I've been asking myself the same question, you could of course get the thunderbird/ phoenity*, rather than the minotaur/ version and the easiest way to fix the problem is a couple of @import statements mailWindow1.css : @import url("chrome://messenger/skin/folderPane.css"); @import url("chrome://messenger/skin/threadPane.css"); searchDialog.css : @import url("chrome://messenger/skin/folderPane.css"); @import url("chrome://messenger/skin/threadPane.css"); @import url("chrome://messenger/skin/threadPaneLabels.css"); - note that the mailWindow1.css changes are in [*] http://downloads.mozdev.org/themes/thun ... 0.1.1a.jar but the searchDialog.css is not updated, yet

I dont see that button at all and tabbing to try and get to it doesnt work either? Can anyone else see it?
June 12th, 2003, 2:31 am
Those @import's where what I've been thinking of too I never knew there was a thunderbird/phoenity*, been checking phoenity.com often but it still links to the minotaur one... Are there many changes since the minotaur theme? Noticable, I mean? The author can never, in no way, be held responsible for any harm caused, mental or physical, by reading this post.

cheeaun is in an awkward time zone;
so telling him about changes, and expecting a site update in a sensible amount of time is expecting too much he provides the art, I provide the css

The latest one I found in themes/thunderbird (0.1.1a of 11-Jun-2003 13:03) doesn't work all that well... I've made a screenshot: http://www.dizzyweb.com/~arjen/screeny.jpg This is my modified version of the minotaur theme: http://www.dizzyweb.com/~arjen/screeny2.jpg The author can never, in no way, be held responsible for any harm caused, mental or physical, by reading this post.
