Unofficial Win32 2003-06-12 optimised for PPro/P2/P3

Post by aebrahim »

I built Mozilla Firebird this morning from CVS with MSVC++ .NET 2002 using some agressive optimisations (which are somewhat eqivalent to -O3 on Linux). I've also optimised the build for PPro/P2/P3 processors. I've posted the build that I made today here:

http://pryan.org/firebird/aebrahim/Mozi ... -Ox-G6.zip (6.34MB - zip)
http://pryan.org/firebird/aebrahim/Mozi ... -Ox-G6.exe (4.86MB - 7z sfx)

http://home.uchicago.edu/~aebrahim/fire ... -Ox-G6.zip (6.34MB - zip)
http://home.uchicago.edu/~aebrahim/fire ... -Ox-G6.exe (4.86MB - 7z sfx)

On another note, tomrrow is my last final, and I'm heading back home. For the next two and a half weeks, unless something major happens like the autocomplete bug is fixed, or VS2003 support is checked in, or something on that magnitude level, I'm not going to be creating new builds. My fiancee is coming home for two weeks, and I imagine I'm not going to be using my computer a whole lot during that time.

You can find a copy of these builds (and my older builds) on pryan's mirror:
http://pryan.org/firebird/aebrahim
(I only have space for my latest builds on my webspace, so for older ones you will have to check the mirror. Thanks to pryan!)

My .mozconfig is as follows:

export MOZ_PHOENIX=1
mk_add_options MOZ_PHOENIX=1
ac_add_options --enable-crypto
ac_add_options --disable-tests
ac_add_options --disable-debug
ac_add_options --disable-mailnews
ac_add_options --disable-composer
ac_add_options --enable-optimize="-Ox -G6"
ac_add_options --disable-ldap
ac_add_options --enable-extensions=default,-inspector,-irc,-venkman,-content-packs,-help
ac_add_options --enable-plaintext-editor-only
ac_add_options --enable-static
ac_add_options --disable-shared
ac_add_options --enable-strip

I've included a copy of my .mozconfig in the build folder itself. For more on what the Ox and G6 switches do:

Congratulations on your last final and getting to see your fiancee. I've been married 23 years and wouldn't trade it for anything. I wish you all the best life has to offer.

I'm actually glad your taking a break from the opt builds. It's driving me nuts installing every one because they just get better and better as the project develops. When/if you start opt builds for Athlon, I'll probably have to go on tranquilizers keeping up.

Congratulations on the fiancee. And thanks for doing the builds. Have fun. In the absence of new optimized builds I may have to kick in some until you get back. :)

Good luck with the results! :)
Does this have the Flash bug fixed? (I can't use Flash in Firebird in your 06-05 build...)

Mark Larson,

Flash appear to be working fine in this build.

I'd just like to say thanks for the builds... I didnt have any luck with VS2003 with mozilla either I'm wondering if the intel compiler would work though. take some time off and dont even think of touching your computer ;)

I'm back home. I don't think the Intel compiler works at all (at least from what I've read elsewhere).
