Thunderbird In box not working - Unified folder faulty
Can anyone help with an In Box problem?
I have 3 email addresses.
At first the Unified 'In' Folder worked fine, showing all messages from all account - but now its empty.
Now 'In' shows 1 un-read email where there is none.
I've treid everything to fix this, including Repair Folder and messing around with various settings, View message body as, compacting and everything else - but no luck.
Can anyone suggest how to fix this...
Thanks!

Yeah, I'm having the same exact problem.
But I believe my issue started after I added an account which is POP3?
The rest of my 5 accounts are all IMAP.
Not sure...because I didn't want to delete my POP3 account after it downloaded all the mail from the server and deleted them.

I'd switch back to "All folders" view to facilitate troubleshooting.
Do you still have messages missing from the same accounts?

Backup your profile first and then try deleting files ending in .msf in your Mail directory. Google if you can't find these.

Hi makaiguy,
Thanks for your suggestion.
I think we weren't very clear about what is happening to us so I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.
Basically, the unified folders doesn't show all the mail anymore yet it claims that there is one unread mail.
When we go through each and every one of our accounts, there isn't any unread mail at all.
So we don't actually have missing messages.
Just a Unified folder which fails to display all messages [You need to click on individual accounts to look at mail just like how it was with "All Folders" again] and its tendency to tell you that there is 1 unread mail when there is in fact none.

Hi Neville,
Thanks! The deleting of the *.msf in the mail directory did seem to clear up the issue about the "1 unread mail".
Unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem of Unified Mail failing to display all mails.
[It literally displays a blank page now where you would see your threads and your message body]
Just a note for those who are deleting their *.msf files, it appears to also get rid of all your flags for emails such as the TAGs and JUNK status.
I hope it doesn't also delete how thunderbird identifies further messages. [I'd be surprised if the dictionary for the Bayesian is stored inside *.msf files]

Try deleting the 'panacea.dat' file in your profile folder.

Hi Neville,
Thanks again.
I've tried what you suggested and it didn't appear to do anything for TB.
[Out of curiosity, what is that file for?]

I am having the same problem. I added a new gmail account which it set up as imap and not pop like the rest and this new account is not showing in my unified inbox.

A clean TB install may be necessary but before that backup TB Profiles directory and then try:
1 - Quit from TB and delete all files which can be safely deleted from the profile directory and then restart:
2 - Create a new profile as per: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_ ... hunderbird

I fixed the above post for you. Can't be too careful with instructions to people with an unknown appreciation for what they're doing. Sadly, I've learned this the hard way ..

Did you check the top-level folder Properties | Folders to search -> Choose...?
Mine were all cleared. Select appropriate - fix the issues.

OMG! Thevil!!!
That did the trick!
I selected Unified Folders.
Clicked Edit=> Folder Properties
Unchecked everything and rechecked the "Inbox"s for all the accounts I've had.
I also clicked on the "Search Online" option.
They magically came back...
