Re: [ext] Right Links 0.3.5.2
Please tell me how I can prevent the new function of opening to the right of a related-tab. I prefer it when right-click opens to the right of the LAST tab. Thanks.

Re: [ext] Right Links 0.3.5.2
This is new feature of Firefox 3.6 itself.
Set browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent to false in about:config.
And there is a little bug: Right Links don't inherit this behavior if referer sending is disabled. Workaround is RefControl extension.

Hi infocatcher
Thanks a lot for this great tool
Could'nt fix the problem with RefControl, but with TabMixPlus, also a fantastic tool.
In the options, 2nd tab "actions" there is a sub tab call "tab close" where you can do everything you want on closeTab event.
Hope it helps

Re: [ext] Right Links 0.3.5.2
Is there a way to configure this add-on so that the new tab is opened in the foreground? I already have this preference set in Firefox for new tabs, but Right Links seems to override this, and opens links in new tabs in the background.
Also, the Right Links preferences button is grayed out in my Firefox add-on window. Is this where I would normally set the foreground preference?
Any help would be appreciated

You can see this option in context menu (item in Status Bar, item in Tools menu and toolbar button have the same context menu).

Re: [ext] Right Links 0.3.5.2
Thanks for the reply, but what I like about Right Links is it can bypass the context menu. I want to be able to right click on the link and have the link automatically open in a new tab, and to switch automatically to the new tab rather than the tab being opened in the background.
Any other ideas??

Re: [ext] Right Links 0.3.5.2
I figured it out! I went to about:config and changed extensions.rightlinks.loadInBackground from true to false. This worked! Yay!

Re: [ext] Right Links not working correctly with Tab Kit
been using Right Links for years and years now! but... have discovered Tab Kit (& BarTab!) and now....
When using RightLinks to open a new tab in TabKit, it doesn't apeear as a child in the group it opened from, but as an orphan, and as a result i'm not using right links anymore as the tabs will get lost... opening them as orphans way down the tree.
please help to find out why right links do not open in the same way as a normal 'shift click'
or 'context menu: open in new tab'. I could ask Tab Kit author but i think the problem lies with what options are used in Right Links to open new tabs.... not sure.
i also notified the author of Tab Kit... maybe you can work it out...? right links is less used now then his extention. personally i think right links should just be standard in every browser, but for more people to use it maybe it can be incorporated in some useful other extentions? (people usually look for a mayor problem, i only found right links years ago by 'accident')

Re: [ext] Right Links 0.3.5.3
Tab Kit overrides some built-in functions for opening child tabs.
Seems to Tab Kit has API for this:
But I not sure, how it works with different settings.
Try new test version: right_links-0.3.5.4pre1-fx-sm.xpi.

Code: Select all
if("tabkit" in window)
tabkit.addingTab("related");
// Add new tab

tabkit.addingTabOver();

Looks like problems with mouse – a few clicks happens instead of one.
Or you have some other extension(s) with similar functionality like InstaClick.
Or it's my issue, but I can't reproduce it.
