I certainly have plans to keep Foobar up-to-date with Firefox 4 - though probably not until a little closer to launch time, which shouldn't be long now!

Thanks for using Foobar!

Thanks for making this addon, I am looking forward to the Firefox 4 compatible version.
Since I started using this addon I have put it on every computer I have access to. Everyone that I have installed it for has nearly the same comment, that it makes sense and why are all browsers not set up this way,...

keep up the good work

Thanks all, for the kind words!

I'm working on another side project right now - but it won't take too long, and then I'll check back into Firefox 4's progress, and see about updating Foobar to it. I want 4 soon myself, and I'll certainly want to bring Foobar with me when I switch :D

Temp fix for transparent background in foobar or any addon:

Code: Select all

@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);

popup { background-color: menu !important; }

userchrome.css or stylish.

after installed Foobar, awesomebar don't accept "Del" key to delete item i don't like, and i found that feature useful to me.

anyway, even you don't fix that, i would accept that, continuing use this add-on for the convenient it brings me.

*ADD*
suggestion popup "simply" display is good, but it would be really helpful to mark those Favs site.

Bug in version 1.5.1 with FF nightly:

Image

White/blank/invisible (can't distinguish) urls in awesome list.

Version 1.50 is fine, but has some bugs, like one that default foobar icon (magnifier) is loaded in FF startup instead of actual default search engine and not able to make multi-search with delimiter configured.

Just reporting...

Sorry to take this a tad bit off topic, but isn't there an issue of using the name of a popular media player as the name of your extension?

Foobar is not a registered trendmark.

And remember, Foobar != Foobar2000

The current version seems to work fine on FF 4.01.

One question, though: the prefs have an option for a URL shortening service, with a choice of TinyURL or bit.ly, but there is no indication of how to use them. Is Foobar supposed to be able to create a short URL from a long one in the URL bar? If so, how do you trigger the action?

Suffers from poor suggestion handling. Personally I find it annoying as being more of "typing" person then "clicking":

- Always takes suggestions from selected search engine.
When I type "/b query" I expect Bing suggestions despite still having Google default selected in drop-down list.

- When using "simple" keyword search (without separator) keyword is also included into query itself "polluting" suggestions

- Cannot disable suggestions when no keywords present - sends everything I type in awesomebar to engine :(

- preceeding separator character is required for multi-engine search.
Cannot set separator as "," and simply use "g,b,y query" instead of ",g,b,y query"
(just in case - sorry for my english)
