2003-06-17 Windows, Linux & OSX Builds Now Available
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/ ... 6-17-trunk
Changes include:
1) Support for installing <a href="http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thunderbird/specs/extensions.html">extensions to thunderbird</a>.
Hopefully we'll start seeing extensions soon.
2) My first extension to thunderbird which I hope folks can use as a template for writing extensions is an extension for <a href="http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thunderbird/specs/offline.html">Offline Support</a>
3) Themes panel has been cleaned up signficantly. The install button should always be visible now.
4) For windows builds, the compose window now supports mailto urls! Clicking on a mailto url in your favorite browser should bring up a compose window with the email address actually filled in properly!
5) The windows build has a fix for the regression in the last build where we did not remember if you turned off the message pane across sessions.
For more details about recent changes, you can always visit the recent changes log:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thunder ... anges.html
Known Issues:
1) Crash when dragging messages between folders , <a href="http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209593">mozilla trunk bug</a>.
Work around: Re-download the windows build again. I put up a new build with the fix.
Enjoy the build and let's get some great thunderbird extensions going!

Awesome!
Awesome Scott! Downloading now! Can't wait to try out some extensions
Just so you know, there are already 5 listed ThunderBird extensions on
<a href="http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/">Extension-Room</a>
Just click on the TB icon to be shown 'only ThunderBird extensions' and enjoy
--Jed
**UPDATE**
I have just tested the 5 TB Extensions and they all install perfectly (note I installed to profile when asked). All the extensions seemfunctional except for compact menu who's preferences seem to not stayed check, but is otherwise functional!
Enjoy

Theme dialog looks much better!
and yes... I'm asking again... can we please have a "latest trunk" folder
Thunderbird is growing fast!
I'm gonna have a look at: An extension that allows the user to configure auto quote colors.
BTW, link to Offline extension is broken on http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thunder ... sions.html in the bottom

Customizable folder panes ??
Does this build fix the inabilty of the last few builds to have customizable folder panes? I used to be able see folder sizes as well as unread & total messages in a folder. This feature is very useful when doing regular maintenence of maillist folders.

No.
This change makes TB more like Outlook Express; it shows the number of unread messages in a folder in parens after the folder.
However, if you want to see message totals in TB, you can't easily do so for a whole account. In OE, clicking on the account itself will show the message count summary in the right-hand pane. Adding similar functionality (and adding folder size...) to TB would be great!

So we should download 2003-06-17-win32.zip instead? Since it has a later time? Or are they identical?
btw, a patch seems to have been submitted to [url=http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189289]Bug 189289[url], which is a nasty irritating bug. Though the bug hasn't been checked as resolved, the patch seems to work from the 2 testimonials submitted at the end. Are there any plans to incorporate this patch in a later build?
