I suggest that this becomes Sticky
Ive given this link at least 10 times in the last few hours

Too many stickies already. And no-one reads them, I posted links to sticky about 6 times recently.
But I second. (a better thing would be an auto search like in bugzilla or a big SEARCH button in posting form like at LinuxQuestions.org)

Sorry that didn't seem to work. My bookmarks can be sorted fine, it just stops working once I get towards the 'S' 'T' and 'U' folders. Any ideas?

The bookmarks are stored under:
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.xxx Filename:bookmarks.html and, in older versions, under: C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\default\xxxxxxxx.slt Filename:bookmarks.html xxx=any character [Filipp, can you add this info in your first post?]

There is something missing from the instructions here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.phtml?t ... _Bookmarks
I have been experiencing problems with installing Firefox. The first time I installed from the compressed folder the system asked me if I wanted to migrate from IE, Firefox and something else. I said yes. OK, great, it worked. Then something went wrong installing extensions, so I deleted the installation dir and the profile dir but nothing helps: I can't get the system to ask me to migrate. Even if I start Firefox in profile mode and I create a new profile. It just wont work. I hope its not due to the fact I use Win98 on this computer! Veterinarians drive like Animals!

its so easy if u remeber u will see Phoenix in the same old place we talk about at up "in the same place we found mozilla" go there in u will find Phoenix folder in these folder have all ur old info included bookmarks "bookmarks.html" Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\default\xxxxxxxx.slt Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\default\xxxxxxxx.slt\bookmarks.html "xxxxxxxx.slt" = mean its change able in my folder like that "eo8t8noz.slt" " Step 4:Import settings from Firefox 0.8 If firefox was your default browser, your settings will be auto-imported. If not, you need to copy files from your old profile to the new one. bookmarks.html // bookmarks user.js and prefs.js // preferences cookies.text and cookperm.txt (or hostperm.1) // cookies signon.txt and key3.db // passwords from Tutorial: How to upgrade to firefox 0.9.x " http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=84091 "Tutorial: How to upgrade to firefox 0.9.x" do backup before and after any change for safety
