Mozillazine wrote:Firefox, Thunderbird, Mozilla Suite Upgrades Released, Wednesday August 4th, 2004

mozilla.org today released minor upgrades to three of its major products. Firefox 0.9.3, Thunderbird 0.7.3 and Mozilla 1.7.2 are all now available. These three new releases were created to correct possible security vulnerabilities in past versions of each product. The Buildbar has links for all three releases.

The Official 2004-08-04 Branch builds are out
Win32 Setup, Win32 Zip, Mac and Linux.

The Official 2004-08-04 Trunk builds are out
mac, Linux

The previous official build was 2004-08-03 branch || 2004-08-03 trunk

->2004-08-03
These are changes between 2004-08-03 and Now
Both fixes for MailNews and Thunderbird are included

If you find problems/bugs:
  1. Post them in this thread
  2. Properly describe the problem
  3. Include the url where you have the problem (if this is the case)
  4. Include the "about mozilla thunderbird" information (under the help button)
  5. Installer build or .zip version?
  6. Did you completely erase the Thunderbird directory first?
  7. Does a new profile fix the problem?
  8. Include the list of extensions you have installed (preferably none to start with)
This makes it a lot easier for others to duplicate your problem.

254016 should move into patch status... it hasn't been checked in yet, however.

Also, since 252643 is basically a WONTFIX or something that is not going to be a problem with nightlies/releases, I think that should be listed as a minor bug...

Is 251242 still in patch status? it's listed as fix, and it looks like that patch is merged into the branch...

getting repeated crashes with "official" version 0.7+ (20040803)

Basically, it is while searching for something in the body of a message with the new search function.

If someone tells me how to access Talkback reports, I'll get more details.

New 080404 Official BR Zip Build locked up while deleting email and I had to shut down TB..
Status Bar message was "Moving to Recycle Bin" and got stuck there.

After a restart of TB it crashed after I attempted to delete mail again.

Back to the Official 080304 BR Zip Build

I ignored Talkback as I have enough other crap trying to connect to the Internet and do not need another one.

I wish Talkback had a disable option (maybe it does and is hidden somewhere, Who knows) like Windows Error Reporting.

That is sad.

Talkback.exe is in the Components folder of 'each' mozilla product install folders.
There is one agent for each Mozilla product you have running, so you'll need to get them all.
Click on the executable, and select the Settings tab, and then check to enable/disable it.
If a panel pops over the feedback agent, just NEXT through until you see the box to Turn Agent On, and uncheck it.
You WILL have to do this everytime you update to a new version.

It would be a whole lot easier, and more user friendly if the feedback agent were put somewhere other than the install\components folder so all Mozilla products coud use.
THe Common Files folder in the Progaram File area would be a good place to make it available for FX, TB, and MOZ since the all seem to use the same agent.

Good idea. You should start a new thread and a bug with that idea.
