Anybody else noticed that Drudge is defeating the pop-up blocker now?

http://www.drudgereport.com/

I've had pop-up ads appear today with Firebird 1.0 on Linux, and 0.9.3 on Windows.

Nope, I've never had a pop up at that site.

Maybe its time to scan your system for ad ware or spy ware.

Also some plugins can screw up the built in popup blocker, but I don't even see a BLOCKED popup notice form that site, even after following a link..

I got a blocked pop-up notice. Maybe your allowing pop-ups for some reason?

yeah, i got a nice litle "firefox prevented this site from opening 2 popup windows", so it doesn't even require adblock.

Well, it happened again today, on Drudge. But only once, just like yesterday.

I have pop-ups blocked but no AdBlock. And until yesterday I have never seen a pop-up with Firefox. I tried the windows version too because I have not upgraded that yet, and the same thing happens.

So it isn't Firefox as such, but a new trick.

I ought to add that the pop-up puts itself into the background pretty quickly.

I got one of my favorite messages: <a href="http://home.comcast.net/~subbyjh/onlinestorage/popup.JPG">Screeny</a>

Today's ad, for University of Phoenix, served by a.tribalfusion.com.

I have different extensions on Linux/Windows versions. The ones that are common to both are:

- Add Bookmark Here
- Allow Right Click
- Image Zoom
- Bugmenot
- Spoofstick
- Duplicate Tab

But the 1.0 versions of Bugmenot and Dup Tab are disabled.

I have not touched the config of the Windows version for some time. The Linux version has, of course, been overhauled since I made the mistake of "upgrading".

Yep, I see them as well. They appear when you leave the page as pop-unders. I get one from The University of Phoenix.

I'm using Firefox .10PR - no ad blocking extensions installed.
