I did WU p1801_Collagen_PPG10_refolding, and now I'm working on p1144_RIBO_nopeptide. Both of these are supposed to be 100 frames according to this page, but the F@H client (the graphical WinXP one) says they are both 250 frames. Is this normal?

I don't know why that discrepancy pops up. I've read several threads on the subject at the F@H forums but can't find a definite answer. Some guys insist that nearly every unit is 100 frames, others say it varies from WU to WU. Dunno.
I recommend that everybody get FahMon, the best and quickest monitoring tool available. It is accurate, as it pulls its info from Stanford's unit info files.
And why not? A dual core cpu has 2 full cores, which is the important part. A DC cpu does share its resources - cache, buses, etc - between the cores, but F@H just cares that there are 2 processors. graywave - back after a long hiatus! Duct tape is like The Force. Ah yes, sorry. I didn't read Jack's post properly. In this case, yes that would be the case.

Can't you just create a separate forum for this? Somewhere at the top? ; )

Whoa....this thread moved.
I can agree with vfwlkr's motive...... Any progress on getting the Folding blog listed on the 'blog' sections??? Any progress on putting a link on the mZ main page? Communication IS important. Let's put it where it needs to be to entice more folk to join. WOW...I just check extremeoverclocking. Our site just made it into the top 50 WorldWide contributors!!! What a compliment to the mZ team! Keep crunching those numbers.....

Promotion ideas (from Larry's post) - listed on feedhouse - link on front page - other ideas? Incentive ideas: - Folder Interviews on blog? - Link to folder's homepages from blog? - other ideas? I'm running another by kerz first, lets see if he agrees. If you're not using Firefox, you're not surfing the web, you're suffering it.

I'm slipping and I haven't been able to figure out why until yesterday. It seems one of my brothers has decided that he probably doesn't need three computers in his house (that silly man!) and I guess he's started powering off one or two of them periodically. The crazy coot may even sell one or two!

well, I've been thinking about the whole 'incentives' thing.
It's kind of a tough one... OCAU have regular competitions and incentives but, of course, most of the OCAU folders are in Australia, so it's a lot more practical; here at mZ we're a pretty spread out bunch. still.. there probably are things we can still do. Like what, I hear you ask? well... I dunno :/ even just an 'acknowledgement' thing where say, for example, the person with the largest %increase over their previous months folding will get a mention on the mZ front page (folder of the month). That increases our presence in the community (and the web as a whole), and people will be like... "wow... they really care about this folding thing, and value everyone's contribution" and perhaps also a 'consistent folder' award or something. it will be something to keep folders in the game, and attract new folders as well. I dunno... those are my thoughts. t

Folder of the Month sounds great. Only problem is for people that can't add more machines for one reason or another (including myself). They would never be a FOTM.
Along the same lines, we should regularly be posting lists of new folders, maybe weekly. I know that vfwlkr had been doing this, but it stopped even though we are still getting new folders. How 'bout monthly contests for people who bring in the most new folders. We can give out more of spaz's coupons /end rant Man have we come a long way. Just a few months ago it was 350+ days to TF, now only 44! vfwlkr, nice job on the blog redesign. Duct tape is like The Force. I'm at 62% completion on this time test protein. P2013
I figured the points accrual helped create the competition with other folding groups. I didn't see this as an individual competition and the justification was a global benefit But I do hope I can get the processor speed sorted out before I DL the next core as I think I can up the speed a little. I noticed an increase when I upgraded the i386 kernal to the i686 kernal, 4% went to more than 6% for the overnight. Unless I'm just confused, again.

ooooh pretty
and graywave: of course - I don't have the capacity to add new boxes either, so that's why I came up with the 'consistent folder' award. Not exactly sure *how* that would be determined... but I think it's a good idea t

Indeed! Nice. Where are those pics of folder of the month? I guess we have to steal some of your ideas ;o) - room for rent -
