Question about Red Bugs...

Post by toridan »

Why is it that we've had nearly the same red (Regressions/confirmed/annoying) bugs for months? Yet it seems that routinely 10 or more bugs are fixed a day. Are these bugs just that tough to squash, or are they not being paid attention to. I don't want this to seem critical, just a curiousity. Thanks.

No, a large number of bugs have to do with code progress/development.
Bugs/fixes with core:svg and core:xforms are not in default builds but I include them in the report because others may want to know development progress

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=280708 [FIX]hang/freeze when hovering over input (using input:hover,td:hover {display:table-row-group} was fixed yesterday.

However, upon hovering over the test case, the text box moves off to the right. Is this expected behaviour?

not only does it move to the right but it also like freezes after it stops moving.
At least with me on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050203 Firefox/1.0+

Wow this is really weird... I'm using the Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050204 Firefox/1.0+[beast]
and in the tescase of 280708 I can actually move the text-area off the screen when I keep positioning my mouse just before the input field.
Looking at the code... that is not supposed to happen

No, that is not supposed to happen, but that is a known bug(s). It's a bug where anonymous created frames for the display:table types are not removed when they should be or something like that.
There are other bugs about that, bug 280708 is about a recent regression where hovering over the input causes a freeze/hang, but that should be fixed in the 20050204 trunk build.

I don't have a hotmail account. Could you try the latest nightly build? Don't use unofficial builds for testing, this could be because of the eventstatemanager::dispatchevent bug that was fixed at 2005-01-23, so try it with a newer and official build.

bug #280561 is invalid as the tabs have a new structer and the code to stlye the contents need to be changed.

You may be right there... Though, if that bug was fixed 23.01, why would it not be present in the moox/bangbang/mmoy builds??

I had this problem with all of them, all February builds... Doesn't seem to be there on the official zip, though.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20050204 Firefox/1.0

My current build using now. Theme Silver Skin. Extensions Forecastfox, Web color names, Smiley, Moji, Web Dev, and jslib, and a few more. Maybe the extensions do this but each time I install one I get ns_Memory error in the firefox.exe file. No the XPCom.dll file. After restarting it goes away. Is it something that needs to be paid attention to?Image

Ps this is the current build from Todays Nightly Aviary

Please notice your user agent string. It says, "<b>rv:1.7.5</b>"

Most of the people on this forum are discussing the "<b>rv:1.8b</b>" version (the Firefox/1.0+ builds).
