Mass Installer allowed to install a bunch of extensions with one single click.

If you work at many different places or clean your profile frequently, you'll be hunting and installing extensions more often than necessary. Mass Installer tried to simplify this task:

Collect the links to all of your favorite extensions (i.e. to the XPIs) in a text file (one URL per line).

Put this file online or onto some portable media (wherever Firefox can find it).

Point Mass Installer to that file and watch it doing its job.

See this post for how to install several extensions at once without the need for any extension at all.

Tip: This is easily done with Infolister's text view (only show %homepageURL%)

Excellent tip!

>> Cloning a Profile << is how I "create a new Profile" for use on another computer.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Mine has wandered off and I'm out looking for it.

Unfortunately, this won't get you the direct links to XPI files, so you'll have to go through the list and add the xpi file names manually :(
What would be really nice is some heuristics for appending the correct XPI file name automatically and some conventions about XPI naming (or perhaps even ask authors to include a special
tag on the home page to the XPI).

Anyone cares to add it to the knowledge base?

Is it possible to do a "mass install" using extensions that I have saved on my harddrive?

Yes, open the extension manager and drag all your files there. No extension needed

Thanks, I didnt know that.

I was hoping maybe there would be a method like Mass Installer where it would be automated and installed silently without have to click the "install" button countdown for each individual extension.

using the method I described, you click Install Now only once, for all extensions.
