unable to load apple.com page with 9-12 build or newer

Post by huggy »

With a 9-12, 9-13 or the 9-14 build of Firebird 0.6.1+ on WinXp won't load all of Apple.com, Only the "tabs" at the top of the page. I had to downgrade back to the 9-11 build before it started working properly. Anybody else have this problem?

Works for me, have you tried a fresh profile?

ahhhhhh crap. I had a feeling someone was going to say that.

What's the easiest way to create a new profile? Just move the one I have and let Firebird create a new one?

Same problem here, do you have a HOSTS file?

just run mozillafirebird.exe -p

create and use the new profile.

you can keep your current profile so you still have your old bookmarks and stuff, if necessary.

No problems at apple or prowrestling (the later took more time to load than the former).

Do you have the adblock extension installed? If so try disabling javascript and see if the page loads for you then. I had a similar problem a couple weeks back where certain pages would not open up with the adblock extension installed unless I disabled javascript. They would open fine with or without javascript enabled if I didn't have adblock installed. After that I tried reinstalling adblock into a fresh profile and it would no longer block any images. :(
That was quite strange, maybe unrelated but thought I would mention it.

I don't have adblock and those sites did work just a few days ago with earlier builds.

That bug is the reason I'm sticking with Sep 9 for now.

I agree about the problem probably being bug 219150, so that's why I just went back to the Sep 9th built.

still exists?

Post by huggy »

Does anybody know if this bug still exists in the latest builds? I'm still on Sept 11th build, and i'm afraid to move up. hehe.

Thanks!

However, the bug is absent in the 0.7 Release Candidates.
