I've been curious if others have modified their userContent.css for this forum and if so the css they used along with what they changed. The following snippet prevents the main section from going to 100% and then getting pushed back over by the sidebar as the page is rendering so the page doesn't jump except a for a small jump when the scrollbar is displayed. Note: The following css only works with the trunk but it could be modified to work with the URIiD extension.
Code: Select all
@-moz-document domain(mozillazine.org) {
  #main {
    position: absolute !important;
    left: 5px !important;
    right:185px !important;
    width: auto !important;
  }
  #sidebar {
    position: absolute !important;
    right: 5px !important;
  }
}

You're welcome... if anyone is interested in all the css cusomizations I use for MozillaZine here is a link to them (once again, this is using @-moz-document which only works on the trunk). I don't care much for bright web sites. :P

Must have lost it after one of profile restores. Will reinstall it now. In this case, I don't have any rules for mozillazine.org. I still use it on a few other sites, e.g. to force larger font size for <code> tags on moz.org and to fix the unusable cavendish wiki theme.

AWESOME jrzycrim Thanks. I'm going to have to learn css so I can do this to other sites. Is there a limit to how much you can add? File size or whatever?

for URIid I'd assume you change
@-moz-document domain(mozillazine.org)
TO

.uriid-forums-mozillazine-org or .uriid-mozillazine-org

asquella:
now THAT's funny... hehehe

An idea of what it looks like for me at moment Image [direct link in case]

I am mainly using wig_out_on_me's userContent.css customizations with some colour changes for links and text area etc.

I have it as " @-moz-document domain(forums.mozillazine.org) { " so it does not affect the weblogs and KB.

/edit: I meant forums.mozillazine.org

If you do make a darker one jrzycrim.. could you post the .css and files for it too? And I wouldn't mind giving yours a try too James. I do like the current one I'm using.. but I will get tired of it.. i always do. Many sites I visit daily don't update their style enough for me. ;)

I used Jim's images/code for Mozilla 1.7.8
with no changes. Im assuming the 1.8x
builds is what this works on?
security.checkloaduri is set to false.
Code: Select all
/* Links to mozillazine folder to change schema using .css */
@import url("mozillazine/mozillazine.css");

I really like the soft blue colors he put together.
http://members.aol.com/jrzycrim01/mozil ... forums.png
(Knowledge Base will carry this schema too, correct?)

Im using milestone builds in both browsers,
Im not testing anymore, did it since Mozilla 0.8
and Firefox 0.3. (I might test these tho)

Where are the 1.1 nightlies? All Im finding are the
1.0+ nightlies

I've been doing similar to this for sometime now and if you like the look/colors(I've been using different than mentioned here but do like the look of it) and want to use it for other sites but don't have the trunk, you can add the code to html.css and it will work for all web sites. I also added images for backgrounds in certain areas and it works fine for me. Of course I haven't been using @-moz-document domain(mozillazine.org) and haven't used the parts about main and sidebar because I assume those two are specific to this forum only and might clash with others.

Thanks Jim, I got both .zip files/code for
userContent.css you posted, Ill test a trunk
Monday after I backup my profile etc. :P

Firefox 1.0.4/Mozilla 1.7.8 didnt display any
changes since they are not trunk builds on
my Linux build tests last night.
