The Official Thunderbird ... builds are out" - RSS feed

IRC channel: #Thunderbird

Mozilla QA wrote:Thunderbird Users - Help us test Software Update (Windows Only)
The new application update service is now available for Thunderbird users on Windows and we could use your testing help!
The instructions are very similar to those Asa outlines in his July 5th post in this blog. <snip> [more]

The Official 2005-07-09 Trunk builds are OUT

Win EXE Installer, Win MSI Installer, Win Zip, Linux and Mac.

Red is not yet out at the editing time of this thread.
Green is out at the editing time of this thread.

Thunderbird 1.1a1 - What's New in Thunderbird 1.1a1
The latest Official build was Thunderbird 1.0.2 (Do not use Thunderbird 1.0.2 with a 1.0+ profile !!)

The latest nightly general directories: Official Trunk (en-US builds) || Official Trunk (localized builds) || Official Branch (en-US builds)
Third party builds: Unofficial Branch/Trunk
Hourly Trunk builds: PATROCLES Tinderbox builds for Win32 || CRAZYHORSE Tinderbox builds for Linux || TRITON Tinderbox builds for MacOS X || Trunk Tinderbox || Bonsai

These are changes between 2005-07-07 and 2005-07-08
Both fixes for Core (Mailnews), Toolkit and Thunderbird are included

If you find problems/bugs:
  1. Post them in this thread
  2. Properly describe the problem
  3. Include the url where you have the problem (if this is the case)
  4. copy your useragent+buildtime to clipboard, use the extension Build ID Copier
  5. Installer build or .zip version?
  6. Does a new profile fix the problem?
  7. Include the list of extensions you have installed (preferably none to start with)

This makes it a lot easier for others to duplicate your problem.

Comment: I don't think TB developers read this forum.
Let's hope that quality team will seriously stress next TB releases before claiming next Alpha status.
BTW, does somebody know the rules and criteria for next Alpha status ?
Who make the decison ? What is the process ?

I think serious regression tests should be carried out from now before next Alpha.

I think that there needs to be a BFT day for Thunderbird.

Not convinced BFT is sufficient.
This formal BFT should absolutely be completed by monkey tests, with feedback taken into account and analysed before claiming next step.
The most difficult is usually to find the good monkeys.

Linux Bug

My screen shot of the problem.

Should I file a Windows bug, or should I ask the Linux bug to be remarked to PC/All?

No, I think remarking to PC/All should be the better option
