*any interactions with your browsing history

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2005-08-13-06-mozilla1.8/ does not include the .mar file so the autoupdate is not available for this build.

am i safe to assume its because only Pacifica and prometheus have built the daily? Or will the updater only work with the trunk, and not branch? :?

EDIT: can anyone get http://www.numion.com/YourSpeed/index.html to crash Firefox?

Started the Trunk & Branch FAQ for the inevitable questions that these words cause. Comments and corrections welcome, please PM me. Actually, don't. I can't edit locked posts in this forum, even if they're mine. Oops.

At the moment if you auto-update from a branch build, it downloads and installs a trunk build. Just a warning.

For those of you who have used the hourly builds archive at: http://www.projects1.com/firefox/Nightl ... /win_zips/ for regression testing, I have switched it over as of now and it should be pulling branch builds.

Also, I have most every hourly build starting with 20050618 available. However, they take up about 7 GB of space, and I haven't yet found an economical way to put ALL of them online :( However, I can certianly send a few builds to anyone who wants them, just PM me.

For those of us who hardcoded the update URL prior to branching, what should
the URL be now, or altogether removed?

To test the mozilla builds I have been using: https://aus-staging.mozilla.org:8711/update2/0/%PRODUCT%/%VERSION%/%BUILD_ID%/%BUILD_TARGET%/%LOCALE%/update.xml
with the automatic update today giving me the latest trunk with rv 1.91 when I expect to continue 1.8b4.

thanks for the guidance,

that url should "read" what ff we are using and give us the correct update, but it's not.

As mossop said above, the autoupdate in the branch is receiving the trunk for some reason. just like you experienced, dbMorris.

Thanks Cosmoxl -

I saw what mossop wrote, but it was unclear as to whether those of us with the about:config entry
being hardwired - whether it should stay the same or not. Rather than assume, I figured it would
be good to clarify for everyone.

thanks again!
