Appears that the .mar file was not generated ? But why did it not just then proceed to find the full download?

Seems that the 'full' .mar file is also missing... Manual download then...

I braved a manual download and installation and have... Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051022 Firefox/1.5 ID:2005102211

While I have visited site history via the main menu "Go" button, the URL bar does not "drop down" at all and contains no visited urls.

Maybe I should have waited for that missing .mar

@jofta, Its OK for me..did not lose the URL listing...Perhaps a glich wiped your history?

maybe
a) an extension is causing it to not show up
b) you have it userchrome'd out

@RPGMaker35 There has been no additions or subtractions from my long standing list of working extensions for all previous updates and I don't understand how or if I could have userchromed it out. How do I test if it's "userchrome'd out"?
The URL field shows Favicons, current URL and RSS button but just won't drop down
I have History in the side bar and history via the Go button.

whats in userchrome.css? its in the chrome folder in your profile

And, although there was an update for Thunderbird to 2005102208, the automatic system for finding it did not. I checked the TB \updates folder several times, noted that it had changed its time stamp each time. Clicking on Help, Check for Updates got the update for TB; doing that for FF says to go away and not bother it, because it has nothing to offer.

FF did not offer the full update to me, either--but, as I'm on a dial-up, that is okay anywhowhatwhere.

Total uninstall and a reinstallation and it seems to have fixed the issue
